David Maus Foundation Donates $140,000

The David Maus Foundation, with Title Sponsors RL Haines General Contractors and Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, announced on Monday a total donation of $140,000 would be issued to the four beneficiaries of the event – the Ronald McDonald Houses of Central Florida, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, the Autism Society of Greater Orlando and Camp Boggy Creek following the conclusion of the 7th Annual David Maus Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament.
The event weekend began on Saturday event with a Sponsor Cocktail Party on the back lawn of the Omni Resort Hotel and a glow-in-the-dark Long Drive Contest in which former UF and Detroit Lions Running Back, James Jones took home the winning prize of a Ping Driver. Sunday morning hosted a Skins Game with over 50 participants on the International Course which lead to a Meet the Pros Party Sunday evening at the ChampionsGate Golf Clubhouse. The Meet the Pros Party showcased over 50 of the Celebrity Players, food and a Silent Auction with over 100 items of jewelry, trips, golf outings and more.
Monday morning began with a Pro-Clinic on the Driving Range given by PGA Tour Golfer, Donnie Hammond and a Helicopter Ball Drop with a cash prize of $1,000 given to one of our guest players, Tom. A shotgun start at 8:30a sent the golfers off to the National and International courses for their scramble play.
While the players enjoyed lunch following the tournament, David Maus and his Title Sponsors, Dr. Matt Leavitt and Richard Haines, presented the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation with a check for $25,000, Camp Boggy Creek with a check for $30,000, the Autism Society a check for $30,000 and the Ronald McDonald House with a check for $50,000. Maus also personally donated $25,000 for a room at one of the Ronald McDonald Houses in honor of his mother, Victoria Maus, who passed in January of this year.
This year marks the seventh year of the premiere event and over $700,000 donated to local Central Florida charities by the David Maus Foundation board. Continue to check back for next year’s golf tournament dates.
